Mark Sandman and Dana Colley were the core members of the alternative rock band Morphine, known for their distinctive low-end sound built around Sandman's customized one- and two-string bass guitars and Colley's baritone and tenor saxophones. Together they co-wrote "The Other Side," which showcased their unique instrumental approach. The collaboration between bassist-vocalist Sandman and saxophonist Colley defined Morphine's unconventional sonic palette throughout the 1990s until Sandman's death in 1999.
