Steven Tyler, born Steven Victor Tallarico on March 26, 1948, in New York City, is an American singer-songwriter best known as the frontman and principal lyricist of Aerosmith. Raised in a musical household by a classically trained father, Tyler became one of rock's most prolific writers, penning or co-penning the majority of Aerosmith's catalog across more than five decades. His most celebrated compositions include Dream On, written on an upright piano years before the band formed, Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion, and later hits like Crazy, Livin' on the Edge, and I Don't Want to Miss a Thing. His primary songwriting partnership with guitarist Joe Perry produced many of the band's signature tracks. Tyler's writing on AllSolos includes Mama Kin, an early Aerosmith original that became a staple of their live performances. His work earned multiple Grammy Awards and helped Aerosmith sell over 150 million records worldwide.
