Izzy Stradlin, born Jeffrey Dean Isbell on April 8, 1962, in Lafayette, Indiana, is an American songwriter and rhythm guitarist who served as a chief composer for Guns N' Roses from the band's formation in 1985 through his departure in 1991. He wrote or co-wrote the majority of songs on Appetite for Destruction and contributed extensively to the Use Your Illusion albums, collaborating frequently with Axl Rose on tracks like Don't Cry and You Could Be Mine. His compositions on AllSolos include Double Talkin' Jive and Pretty Tied Up (The Perils of Rock n' Roll Decadence), both from the Use Your Illusion sessions. After leaving Guns N' Roses, Stradlin released a series of solo albums beginning with Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds in 1992, maintaining a low-profile but steady output rooted in straightforward rock and roll songwriting.
