Marvin Fisher was a composer and lyricist born on September 26, 1916, in New York City. The son of Tin Pan Alley composer Fred Fisher and brother of songwriter Doris Fisher, he grew up in a family deeply embedded in American popular song. Fisher's best-known composition is "When Sunny Gets Blue," a ballad that became a jazz and pop standard recorded by numerous artists. He also wrote "Destination Moon," another song that achieved lasting recognition through frequent cover versions. His broader catalog, spanning recordings from 1937 to 1950, includes works performed by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Louis Armstrong, Vaughn Monroe, and Fran Warren. "The Trouble With Me Is You" is among his contributions to the jazz vocal repertoire. Fisher worked as a composer, lyricist, and arranger across the jazz and dance band idioms of the era. He died on August 21, 1993, in Southampton, New York.
