Will Hudson and Irving Mills co-composed "Moonglow" in 1933, with lyrics by Eddie DeLange. Hudson wrote the piece as a theme song for his band at Detroit's Graystone Ballroom. First recorded by Joe Venuti in 1933, the song became a major jazz standard with subsequent recordings by Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Art Tatum. By 2016, "Moonglow" had been recorded over 572 times in jazz alone.
