About
Julieta Eugenio's tenor saxophone solo is the first of two solos on this 2019 trio performance of George Gershwin's "Love Walked In." She takes three choruses of the 32-bar ABAC form at 126 BPM with a swing feel in F, building a substantial improvisation over Gershwin's harmonically rich standard. At 28 to 29, Eugenio's warm tenor tone and thoughtful melodic construction suit the song's romantic character, and the three-chorus length allows her to develop ideas with increasing complexity. Matt Dwonszyk follows on acoustic bass.
Julieta Eugenio was 28 to 29 years old at the time.
