About
Kenny Drew's piano solo closes out the improvised statements on this recording, following Paul Chambers's acoustic bass. Spanning two choruses of the 38-bar AA' form at an up-tempo 255 BPM with a swing feel in E♭, the solo runs approximately 1:14. "Moment's Notice" is one of the most demanding compositions from John Coltrane's 1957 album Blue Trane, built on a rapidly moving harmonic sequence in the unusual AA' form of 38 bars. Kenny Drew was 28 to 29 years old at the time of this 1957 recording.
