Roy Bittan is a pianist and keyboardist best known for his work with Bruce Springsteen. In 1974 Bittan was working with bands in New York and playing on Broadway when he responded to an add in the Village Voice seeking a versatile piano player. After 2 auditions he was selected to join the E Street Band, replacing David Sancious, who had left earlier that year. Bittan continues to play with Springsteen to this day, both as part of the E Street Band and as part of the other band that accompanied the singer in the 1990s. Bittan has also worked as a session musician for a variety of artists including David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Meatloaf, Stevie Nicks and many others. Roy Bittan released his first solo album, "Out of the Box" in 2014.
