Inbar Paz is a New York City based jazz bassist and composer. Paz came to New York in 2016 and has performed on a variety of stages in New York and Israel including Birdland, Smalls, Mezzrow, HaBima Theater and the Red Sea Jazz Festival. In April 2017, as a part of the SIJ Trio, Paz won the International Women in Jazz Competition. Paz also performs with the all female jazz group Queenta. She has worked with a variety of musicians including the Grammy winning artist JC Hopkins, Nicole Zuraitis, and Thana Alexa. Paz is also an educator and teaches lessons.

Trivia

Inbar Paz played the bass guitar in the Israeli Air Force Band. Inbar Paz is a two time Keren Sharett Grant Recipient; she won the grant in both the jazz and classical categories. Inbar Paz came to the US on an Alien of Extraordinary Ability visa.

Early Life

Inbar Paz was born in 1992 in Tel Aviv, Israel and began playing the violin at the young age of 6. When she turned 15, she switched to the upright bass and continued her musical studies at Thelma Yellin High School and the Stricker Israel Music Conservatory. Paz went on to attend the Tel Aviv University Music Academy, where she played in the university's orchestra. From 2013 to 2016, she served as the principal bassist for the Israel National Theater and also performed regularly at jazz clubs in Tel Aviv. In 2016, Paz moved to New York City.
