He now teaches percussion at AVPA at Culver City High School, the same arts program where he received his own early musical training as a student. His Instagram handle, @thepunnydrummer, hints at a fondness for puns.
Danny Beallo grew up in Los Angeles, California. His earliest formal musical training came through the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (AVPA) at Culver City High School, where he played in jazz bands, rock bands, percussion ensembles, and musicals. The program connected him with established LA jazz musicians including Roger Neumann and Richard Simon, with whom he performed at the Central Avenue Jazz Festival and the Sweet and Hot Jazz Festival.
