About
Julieta Eugenio's tenor saxophone solo opens the improvisation on this 2017 SIJ Trio performance of Nacio Herb Brown's "You Stepped out of a Dream" at Mezzrow. She takes one chorus of the 32-bar ABAC form at 169 BPM with a swing feel in C, the first of three solos. At 26 to 27, Eugenio's playing is melodically assured and rhythmically fluid, navigating Brown's harmonically rich standard with confidence. She is followed by Sarah Slonim on piano and Inbar Paz on acoustic bass.
Julieta Eugenio was 26 to 27 years old at the time.
