Danny Janklow's alto saxophone solo is the first of two solos on this 2021 LA Jazz Connection performance of Bronislaw Kaper's "Green Dolphin Street." He takes two choruses of the 32-bar ABAB' form at 131 BPM with a Latin feel in G, navigating the tune's distinctive harmonic movement with fluid alto lines. The Latin groove provides a rhythmically engaging foundation, and Janklow builds his two-chorus statement with increasing melodic complexity.
