Miles Davis's trumpet solo is the second of four improvisations on this recording, following Parker's alto saxophone. Miles takes the first half of a split chorus with Lucky Thompson, soloing over a half chorus of the 32-bar AABA form in B-flat at 212 BPM. His statement demonstrates the developing voice of a young trumpeter finding his way in the company of the era's most formidable musicians.
