Following Chart's alto opening, Rocha improvises over the open form at a slightly pushed 93 BPM in C minor, building in intensity as the band responds to his ideas. His longer solo develops the performance's energy further, the live capture preserving the spontaneous interplay between Rocha's melodic lines and the rhythm section's deep funk pocket.
