Miles Jensen was born in Tokyo, Japan, and grew up across three cities: Tokyo, New York, and San Francisco. This transcultural upbringing exposed him to diverse musical traditions that would inform his eclectic approach to jazz. He pursued formal music education at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, where he completed a master's degree in 2017 on a full scholarship. At Thornton he studied guitar performance while also developing skills in audio production and recording engineering, a dual focus that would define his professional career as both a performer and a studio professional in the Los Angeles jazz scene.
