Robby Krieger is an American guitarist and songwriter born Robert Alan Krieger on January 8, 1946, in Los Angeles, California. As a founding member of The Doors, Krieger was the band's primary melodic composer, writing or co-writing many of their most commercially successful songs. His best-known composition, Light My Fire, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967 and was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Krieger's compositions on AllSolos include Touch Me, Tell All The People, Wishful Sinful, Down on the Farm, I'm Horny I'm Stoned, Wandering Musician, Hardwood Floor, and It Slipped My Mind, spanning his work with The Doors and his solo career. His songwriting style incorporated flamenco, jazz, Indian classical, and blues influences into a rock framework, giving The Doors much of their harmonic and melodic character. After Morrison's death, Krieger continued writing and recording with the Butts Band alongside John Densmore, and later pursued solo work exploring jazz fusion. His compositions have been widely covered, with Jose Feliciano's rendition of Light My Fire earning a Grammy Award in 1969.
