About
Opening the solo section, this tenor sax improvisation spans two choruses of the 68-bar form at a brisk 292 BPM. Dillon's treatment strips away the original's guitar effects and studio experimentation, revealing an underlying harmonic and melodic structure that proves surprisingly well-suited to jazz improvisation at breakneck tempo. The 68-bar form provides a defined harmonic landscape for the improvisation. Following this solo, Peter Zak takes over on piano.
