Closing out the solo section, this acoustic bass improvisation spans two choruses of the 32-bar ABAC form at an uptempo swing feel at 231 BPM. This is the most concise solo on the recording, making every phrase count within a compact space. The 32-bar ABAC form, with its non-repeating final section, offers harmonic variety and a sense of forward motion through the changes. Coming after Carmen Staaf's piano solo, this is the final improvisation before the ensemble returns to the head.
