Anthony D'Alessandro is a composer, pianist, arranger, and bandleader based in Toronto and active on the international jazz scene. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano Performance from the University of Toronto and studied under pianist and organist Mike LeDonne in New York City. D'Alessandro's compositional catalog has developed across two albums as a leader. His debut, Searchin', released in 2024, featured trumpeter Benny Benack III and introduced his voice as a writer. His sophomore album, City Lights, released in October 2025, contains seven original compositions and represents a significant step forward in his writing. Several of his compositions appear on AllSolos, including "The Golden Mean," a blues; "Tune for Monty," an AABA form; "Blues for the Down and Out"; "Outbreak"; and "Wonder." His writing balances strong melodic sensibility with formal variety, moving between blues forms, standard song forms, and more exploratory structures. D'Alessandro's frequent collaborators include trumpeter Summer Camargo, tenor saxophonist Jacob Chung, bassist Jonathan Chapman, JUNO Award-winning drummer Ernesto Cervini, and two-time JUNO Award-winning vocalist Caity Gyorgy, with whom he tours regularly. He continues to develop as one of the younger generation of jazz composers working in a mainstream acoustic tradition.
